some notes to spectators so you can enjoy your day:
You will find directions to race sites on the race resource pages.
Please do not bring dogs with you unless they are kept strickly on the lead!
Get there early, first teams leave around 9.30 and are often the most impressive 6 dog teams, races due to be finished by 1.30 - 2.30 each day. (please note in the case of night races/stages team will leave from just before dark).
Feel free to take pictures but please do not use flash.
Ask mushers before approaching dogs, they might be very excitable.
Keep children under control at all time and do not touch dogs unless given permission to do so by owners.
Please park so teams of dogs can pass your vehicle, they have priority over cars.
The best places to watch are back from the start lines and finish lines, corners can impressive as the teams turn and you hear the mushers shout commands. if a team approaches you on the trail keep well back from the edge of the trail.
Teams will be moving very fast in the first sections of the trail please beware and keep off the trails. please do not hinder the progress of any team by standing on the trail, especialy if you have dogs with you!
Ask lots of questions, mushers love to chat about their dogs!!! and enjoy your day out!

dogs raring to go at Beechenhurst trails start line
2 day sled dog race - 1 night trail, 1 day trail!
A Fast and Fun race on great trails, full facilities, suitable for experienced mushers and first time teams alike. A Good race for spectators! Junior classes and R class available.
One minor hill at start then lots of top quality trails with twists and turns!
ABSA championship event!
The application to the Forestry Commision has been confirmed and we have the go ahead for the event, this will be its 6th year of running and again ABSA championship status has been awarded to it!
This years event will differ and saturday night will be a Night race for the first time here followed by the usual sunday morning race!
We will have use of the excellent Gavallers cafe on site and offer a mushers meal, drinks and socialising with camping this year in vans on site!
If you require more traditional or comfortable accomodation we can recommend the wonderful Bells Hotel and Country Club in near by Coleford, they have excellent food, nice accomodation and good local beers for those wishing to stay there. They are supporting our events and make us more than welcome... Discount for mushers! please mention on booking that you are attending the race! Please give them our custom, they are approx 5 minutes drive from the start trails of our races! Link can be found on the links page to their website.

4 trail stage stop sled dog race!
The second year of this totaly unique event to the UK giving mushers the chance to try and new form of racing! 2 night stages & 2 day stages in one weekend on fantastic trails! This year will feature both and open class for hounds and other non pure bred teams and also a canicross class running the same course as the mushers...a real challenge!
this year, for the first time, we will be hosting the junior wydean quest with under 18 year old mushers running 2 stages, these junior mushers show fantastic sportsmanship and dog control!
The Wyedean Quest is challenging and is the perfect race for those wishing to try a little more distance, run a stage stop event or wanting a little more for their money! Great trails with a mix of smooth packed gravel, hard park dirt and grassy sections with no major hills!
This is more than just a race, with a mushers hog roast/bbq, support teams, mushing films and a real social feel, you dont want to miss this years race!!!
Flexible team sizes, and a chance to drop and add dogs as you need!
Great race for spectators!
